SCIENCE OF READING COACHING

ERIS members each have a lifetime of experience coaching teachers in the most effective methods for developing reading skills. Our most important work has been in guiding teachers to rapidly understand and apply the tools that are now called Science of Reading (SOR) in their classrooms. 

Through a combination of instruction and demonstration, our coaches provide excellence in behavioral support as well as in critical foundations for reading success. We are highly skilled at connecting new learning to actionable teaching skills that will transform the students and create a better learning environment. 

We begin each coaching relationship by introducing a simple assessment that can be used by the teacher to provide a baseline of students' skills. They can then use this to measure the success of our coaching relationship expressed in the gains made by students, providing feedback on the relationship and teacher. 

Success is defined by the acceleration of students' learning, measured on our Academic Fluency Chart. We train teachers to stay tuned to outcomes that guide their students to success, devoted to measures in every facet so feedback on student success is always and immediately present.
